Mindful Writing is a core daily practice for mindful aging.

Benefits:

- oxygen for the soul

- boosts your brain

- improves concentration 

- increase productivity

- helps you discover (or uncover) your own voice 

Guidelines:

Inspired by Julia Cameron's morning pages, the process is simple:

 

  • Put a journal and pen in your writing spot before you go to sleep for the night.

  • Upon awakening (get your coffee or tea, if you prefer!) 

  • Sit in a spot where you have the best chance of being uninterrupted

  • Silence your inner critic

  • Choose a writing prompt if you feel stuck* 

  • Spelling and grammar are unchecked

  • You don't have to clever and funny

  • Be whiny if you want

  • Keep your thoughts private

  • Don’t review immediately.
