Dawn

The sight of the sun rising always fills me with promise and hope even in dark times. As Derek Wolcott puts it in this poem:
I may have many sorrows,
Dawn is not one of them.
Don't forget - tomorrow, Monday, January 9th begins the Ten-Day Mindfulness Challenge! Whether you get up early or you are more of a night person, the practices will be ready when you are. Expect them at 7:00 a.m. in your email each morning. Don't forget to invite people who may need a little "dawn" in their lives! They can send an email to me at laurie1059@gmail.com to sign up.
Alba
by Derek Wolcott
Dawn breaking as I woke,
With the sweat of the dew
On the green, new grass.
I walked in the cold, quiet as
If it were the world beginning;
Peeling and eating a chilled tangerine.
I may have many sorrows,
Dawn is not one of them.
