Forget Your Perfect Offering

Some cultures have a tradition of purposefully including imperfections in their handiwork with the idea that anomalies add a unique human essence to the work. Navaho rug weavers would include a "spirit pathway" as seen in the picture. They believed that part of the weaver's being was entwined in the rug.


A mindful self-compassion practice of kindness can be helpful when you find that you are expecting perfection and discover that you are human!
